With the release of now dev, we provided developers with the first single-command development environment that can handle multiple services at once.
In order to open up this opportunity to an even wider range of users, we are very pleased to announce that now dev supports Windows.

Supported Terminals

As of the latest version of Now CLI, the following terminals are supported on Windows:
Just like on all the other operating systems, setting up your development server is as easy as running a single command:

In this example, a Next.js application is run using `now dev`

No Dependencies

If you have Node.js installed, the easiest way to install Now CLI (and therefore now dev) is to install it using npm or yarn:
npm install -g now
However, there is no need for Node.js to be installed:
  • If you are using Now Desktop (recommended), Now CLI (and therefore now dev) will be installed and kept up-to-date automatically.
  • If you only need Now CLI for Windows, you can download it here.

Conclusion

Our team is working hard to ensure Now CLI works on all the common operating systems (Linux, Windows, macOS and Alpine Linux).
