With Now, our goal is to provide everybody with the best cloud experience possible. To be truly universal, we need to ensure that applications perform well from every geographical point — loading a site from Beijing or Chicago should be equally fast. Towards this goal, we are constantly adding new regions to expand our network.
Today, we are announcing our sixth Edge region in the US: Charleston (East US).

ZEIT Now CDN latency for some of our regions, from your current location.

The availability of a new Edge region means that we can cache your content and make it available across our network even faster, and deliver a speedier cloud experience globally.
Combined with SFO1 (San Francisco), IAD1 (Washington DC), CLE1 (Cleveland), PDX1 (Portland) and OMA1 (Omaha), CHS1 (Charleston) will allow your customers in United States to benefit from significant performance improvements.
Specifically, if they access from within or near Charleston, your customers will enjoy improved latency of over 3x over our previous options.

Smaller is better. The average latency (in ms) for a connection to CHS1, IAD1, and SFO1 from an office in Miami.

Following this announcement, CHS1 will be made available to all deployments automatically. All your customers in or near Charleston (such as those in Miami or Atlanta) are already enjoying faster speeds. You need not do anything to take advantage of our Edge region in Charleston.
Please note that regardless of your chosen deployment region, your static assets and dynamic responses will always automatically be cached globally across all Edge regions in our network, ensuring the quickest response time for all of your users.
We are proud to be able to offer a faster web experience to our patrons in East US.
Not only do we want to make a truly global infrastructure available, we also want it to be easily accessible. With our default Smart CDN, we are enabling every developer to improve the experience for their customers without any configuration.
